In the depths of space, they journeyed far,
A crew of brave souls guided by a star,
But as they soared through the endless void,
Their minds began to become destroyed.
Paranoia set in like a creeping dread,
Whispers and shadows filled their heads,
Each one feared the others around,
As they orbited through the galaxy's bound.
The ship became a trap, a prison in space,
A place of dread, where they all had to face,
The creeping fear that had taken hold,
Their sanity was lost as the darkness rolled.
The captain, once brave, now cowered in fear,
As he heard the whispers that no one else could hear,
The navigator is lost in a haze,
As he stared at the stars through a vacant gaze.
The engineer, once strong, now shook with fright,
As he felt the ship's groans in the blackest night,
The medic, once calm, now wracked with stress,
As she tended to wounds that refused to caress.
Their dreams became nightmares as the void closed in,
And their grip on reality began to thin,
The darkness consumed them, one by one,
Until their journey was forever done.
For, in the end, it was not the void that took their lives,
But the fear and the paranoia that cut them like knives,
And as their ship drifted through the cold of space,
Their spirits still haunted that terrible place.
